About the Doula

Hi! I'm Chelsie. I have been a doula since early 2012, though my interest and
studies in pregnancy and birth began a few years sooner. My drive to serve
women in their childbearing year stems from my strong belief that women and
their babies deserve to have their informed choices respected at all times. My doula certification is through Birth Arts International, which I completed in early 2013. I am also studying to be a Master of Herbalism through Heart of Herbs Herbalism School, which affords me the ability to share with you my in depth knowledge of healing and nourishing herbs. I offer a variety of herbal products, all of which are available at a 10% discount (for life) to my clients. See www.AuntieNatals.com to see my complete line. Custom herbal blends are available as well, dependent upon your specific needs.
In addition to my birth services, I am co-owner/operator of The Belly, Birth and Beyond Expo in Appleton and Growing Up Green Bay. And recently helped found The Metta Birth Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides childbirth education, birth and postpartum support to low income and teen mothers in the Fox Valley and Green Bay.
I’m a mother of three: Flynn, Adelynn and Declan. We have a large plot of raised beds full of veggies and berries, and four chickens who are happy to exchange pest control for eggs. We also share our house with Otto, our irreplaceable shepherd-lab mix. In my meager spare time, I enjoy knitting and sewing.
My passion in life is helping mothers learn ALL of their options during their childbearing year. Ultimately, the pregnancy and birth is yours, and if you choose to birth in a tree, I’ll cheer you on from the ground, but I want you to know every detail in order to make an informed decision. I spend a great deal of our prenatal time together providing information and education as well as emotional support and encouragement.
To date, I’ve attended in the range of 60-70 births, some in the capacity as a midwife’s apprentice. My experience includes high risk, VBAC, twins, vaginal breech, planned cesareans, unforeseen complicated births, and perfectly normal, peaceful births. I carry a neonatal resuscitation certification and have a large degree of lactation experience, especially troubleshooting latch and supply concerns.
